Great American documents, speeches and letters

These are documents which should be familiar to all Americans. But many of us might not have read or heard them in their entirety for a long time. Some, we may not have heard at all.

I find it very inspiring to sit down and re-read them now and then to remind myself of the brilliance, dedication and devotion of those who toiled to form this nation into what it is today.

You will find documents written and spoken by people of all colors, representing various views, and reflecting the political state of our country at different times during it's history.

Conspicuous by their presence, are some of the words of the Native Americans who were systematicaly deprived of their rights to live here in peace, to live in the places of their choice and to continue to live in the cultural style to which they were accustomed. More will be added as soon as I can do a bit more research.
