AA Chain Clutch Linkage
The stock Jeep clutch linkage consists of a rod, a pivot shaft
and cable to connect the clutch pedal to the release fork.
I had a fair share of trouble with broken cables on the stock clutch linkage.
When I heard about the Advance Adapter clutch linkage I had to try it!
It
is a huge improvement over the stock system. Unfortunately the space it's
supposed to occupy by its design is already being used by my exhaust system.
Seeing that my exhaust system doesn't leak or rattle, I'm reluctant to mess with it.
I made a transition
piece (an inverted 'V') and mounted my clutch link housing
horizontally instead of the Advance Adapter 60 degree angle.
By making a transition piece, I didn't modify the linkage housing.
The next exhaust system may be completely different and then the
stock Advance Adapter installation will probably fit.
This is the smoothest this clutch has been since late 1966!
