Old Things!

This is a 1938 Plymouth 4 dr.
This wasn't my first car, but it didn't miss it much.
It wasn't very fast, but it did move from place to place.

A little later I bought a '39' Mercury. (39 was the first year model Mercurys were sold)
It didn't start very well, but it ran great once it was started. I did a lot of work (and learned a lot) on this car.
When I joined the Navy, my Dad gave it away, just to be rid of it.

This wasn't my car (it belonged to my parents), but I learned to drive in a '55' Pontiac.

When I was stationed in San Diego with the US Navy, I bought my first motorcycle,
a 1948 Harley Davidson 'FL'. It was (and is) known
as a "Knuckle Head"

The 48 kicked me as much as I kicked it, so I soon upgraded to a '57' FL "Pan Head".
The '57' had the clutch on the handlebar. It was so much easier than the 'suicide clutch' on the '48'.
I put a lot of miles on that motorcycle. I rode it from San Diego, home to New Mexico 3 times.

Just before I got out of the Navy (1963), I bought a '59' Ford Pickup.
It served me well,
but was useless in the mountains.

So I replaced it with a '64' Jeep CJ5. It did good in the boonies, but it was slow on the highway

So, late in 1966 I replaced the '64' with a new '67' Cj5 with a 225 ci V6 engine.
Whew! It climbed great, had a good speed on the highway, and got better gas milage!
and I still have it!

In 1978 the microcomputer revolution was upon us.
I looked and looked at the offerings and finally bought
a TRS-80 Model 1.
It wasn't
the best computer out there, but it had more software than any of the others.
When I finished I had a printer and 4
diskette drives.
