What you need to run the gMFSK software

You can get the RPM of the gMFSK software from this web page. But gMFSK has several required libraries and you will want to use the Xlog software to log your contacts. You will need to get the Hamlib, fftw and Xlog software from their author's web pages. Here you can click the proper word and get to the web page having the software. When you have all the RPM files on your Linux you can install it, but you need to install it in order or it will not load properly.

Down Loading the software

It is suggested that you down load the software in this order. First get the 2 fftw rpm files, then Hamlib, then Xlog and last gMFSK rpm files. When you click to get the fftw files you will be transported to another web page. Usually you can down load the software and then press back on your web browser and get back to this page. If not you will need to re-call this page. Down loading can take hours to minutes depending on your Internet speed. If you are using a dial-up Internet it can take hours to get all this software.

Now you will get the two fftw library RPM files. From this page you want the files fftw-2.1.3-1.i386.rpm and fftw-2.1.3-devel-1.i386.rpm. You will get to the proper web page by clicking on fftw.

fftw

Both of these rpm packages will load normally.

Now you will get the Hamlib RPM. You want the file hamlib-1.2.3-1 RPM for i386 and it's the big letters at the top of the page. Click this name when you reach the web page. To get there click on hamlib below:

hamlib

This package will load normally and it's used by both Xlog and gMFSK.

Get the RPM package of Xlog. It is on a web page you can reach by clicking on Xlog. Get the file xlog-1.1-1.i386.rpm.

Xlog

Due to a problem with Xlog, load it with this line: #rpm -i --nodeps xlog-1.1-1.i386.rpm. It will work fine.

Now get the RPM of gMFSK from this web page. Click on the word gMFSK and the down load will start right up.

gMFSK

Now you have all the software needed to set up gMFSK on just about any Linux that uses the RPM method.
