Kites 'R Us: Construction Links & Components

Kite Construction can be quite complicated. Rather than re-engineering the wheel, take some time to gander at some kite plans online. Some of my favorite plans are listed as links below:

Povera Designs:

• Indian Fighter Kite Design- Fabulous plans with good images to follow
• Tissue Paper Sled Design- Same good images... includes linear design image
• Delta Kite Design- A bit more complicated than the previous two design. Not for the elementary novice.
• Delta Box Kite Design- Not quite as difficult as the previous design, but actually more complicated to fly.
• Winged Box Kite- This is my favorite. Good for low wind conditions due to the potential increase in surface area. This is a good kite to investigate for surface area exercises.
