My name is Kevin Edgington. I was born in Lima, Ohio on November 12, 1971. I am currently working at ASRC Aerospace at the White Sands Complex (Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center) in Las Cruces, NM. My hobbies include, but are not limited to, riding my tricked out Honda TRX250R every chance I get (for all you 250R fans, it's an '87), playing guitar and singing, playing video games, and dabbling on the computer. In general, I just play.
I have lived in Las Cruces since I was but a wee lad, and I like the town alot. It's one of those towns that isn't big enough to have all the problems that the big cities have, but it is large enough to have all the modern conveniences-like Wal-Mart (just kidding...KILL WALMART!!!). Seriously though, check out this picture of a New Mexico sunset from my front yard. The sunsets here can be really amazing. Though most of the time the desert here is hot, it can be quite cold in the winter time. The Organ Mountain Range near my house can put on quite a show in the winter time.
I attended Mayfield High School and graduated in 1990. After that, I attended the Dona Ana Branch Community College (DABCC) and studied electronics. While in the electronics program I participated in a special topics class which required the class to design and show a float in the "Electric Light Parade". You can watch a video of the float in action by clicking here. We decided that our float was going to have some attitude, so we made a huge spider and covered it with computer controlled strands of lights. That was, by far, the neatest school work I have ever done. We won first place for non-profit organization and to this day DABCC hasn't won again...dam we were good! Electronics, not a very tangible subject, wasn't up my ally so I dropped out of school and went to work for KeyTronic corporation. In the five and a half years I worked there, I performed every type of factory work imaginable. I realized that KeyTronic couldn't offer me a future so I decided to go back to school.
Two years ago I took a three week trip to England. While there I visited many places. Here is a picture of me in Trafalgar Square. I also visited the White Cliffs of Dover where I saw the hovercraft and hydrofoil ferries used to cross the English Channel. I also went to the real Sherwood Forrest, and the one place you must go if you visit England, Stonehenge(that picture was taken while the sky dumped freezing rain on me). I had a great time in England...but I also learned that there is no place on earth like the good old USA, where everything is larger than life. I was glad to finally get home.
I have now finished up both my Associate Degree in Computer Technology and my Associate in Electronic Technology. After earning both degrees, I got a job with ASRC Aerospace. I am excited about the possibilities that my new job will offer, and I am looking forward to the future. I just bought a Dodge 1500 4x4 to carry the TRX250R around in. Life is good!!!
