M-939 5-Ton Tactical Truck

The M-939A2, said to be a fitting replacement for the famed Army "deuce-and-a-half", was developed for heavy loads and off-road conditions. The vehicle has a top speed of 65 mph and several improvements over its predecessor, the M809 series vehicle, including an automatic transmission and improved cooling, electrical and power steering systems. Its central tire inflation system enables the crew to increase or decrease air pressure in the tires to improve mobility on or off roads. Powered by a NHC-250 Cummins diesel engine generates sufficient power to tow 21,000 pounds.
