The Dusty Roadrunner program is a strong anti-litter educational program aimed at children in our Kindergarten and Elementary schools. It is presented in the form of two educational booklets and reinforced by personal appearances of KNMB’s Dusty Roadrunner mascot. The booklets entitled “Fun With Dusty Roadrunner” and “Dusty Roadrunner Visits the National Monuments in New Mexico” teach the merits of litter prevention, through stories and activities. KNMB Speakers Bureau

Keep New Mexico Beautiful has an active Speakers Bureau, that makes visits throughout the state, speaking on topocs such as planting, beautification, litter control and recycling. If you would like to arrange a visit contact us.

Ink Jet Cartridge Recycling

Keep New Mexico Beautiful has partnered with Document Solution Inc. of Albuquerque to implement an Ink Jet Cartridge recycling program. It is open to all schools and organizations throughout the State.

This program differs from many that you may already be aware of that are organized by large business supply companies in two distinct ways:

• There is a prize for the school or organization that turns in the most cartridges in a year. The prize takes the form of a $200 grant from Keep New Mexico Beautiful to implement further recycling or litter prevention programs.
• All of the Ink Jet Cartridges are re-manufactured at Document Solutions Inc’s Albuquerque location rather than being shipped out of State, therefore helping to build the local economy.
