In this season of joining together, we have a different goal. We hope our paths don't cross. In fact, we wish there were no need for our organization to exist at all. But, for the thousands of people that La Pinon has helped over the years-your friends and neighbors-our mission and presence in the comunity is vital.

La Pinon Sexual Assault Recovery Services helps victims and their families overcome the devastating effects of violence and move from being victims to survivors.

As you may have noticed in recent headlines, the need for our services is unfortunately growing. In the past year alone, La Pinon has:

... Provided over 124 SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Examinations

...Provided theraputic counseling to over 868 individuals

...Provided a Rape Crisis Advocate for over 1,250 victims

...Provided training, prevention workshops and awareness information to over 20,000 community members.

To meet these needs, we have expanded our services and our physical presence in the community. We have opened an enhanced SANE Unit at Memorial Medical Center to increase victim privacy and comfort. We have moved our offices into a more efficient space in which to operate. These large, but necessary expenses have inspired us to raise $20,000 by May 2008 in order to continue to expand our capacity to meet community needs.

We need your HELP. Your contribution ensures that victims ALWAYS have a place to to turn to and family members ALWAYS have support, and our community ALWAYS HAS A LEADER in in our effort to "STOP THE VIOLENCE".

$250 Provides theraputic counseling for a child vicitm

$100 Provides volunteer training to staff our KIDTALK warmline
