Crisis
Intervention . . . 24-hour 1st response to survivors of sexual assault through
phone, face to face and SANE Project. Trained volunteer advocates
execute this service after graduating from 40 hours of intensive
training in sexual assault advocacy intervention.

SANE Project . . . Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Project
is a collaborative venture of La Piñon Sexual Assault Recovery Services
and Memorial Medical Center.SANE is located on MMC campus in the Hertiage Building.
Specially trained Nurse Examiners provide care with sensitivity, ensuring privacy and timely treatment in a safe environment at no
cost.
Even id you do not want to report to law enforcment SANE nurses will make sure you are physically OK explain your options as a survivor.
A survivor can call La Piñon Sexual
Assault Recovery Services at 575 526-3437. Family or friends can make
this call for the survivor and an advocate will inform them what
to do. A nurse and advocate will meet the survivor at the SANE Unit.

- Gathering forensic evidence (Criminal
Sexual Penetration kit)
Counseling . . . Outpatient theraputic counseling
for sexual assault survivors and their family is facilitated by Licensed Professional
Clinical Counselors with extensive experience in sexual assault and
trauma related issues.
We encourage counseling no matter when you have been assaulted. Please call for an appointment.
Community Prevention . . . Responsive and flexible presentations
and professional training concerning sexual assault issues and safety.
Staff and advocates provide these programs to the community.
KID TALK . . .
Our new KID TALK warm line offers children someone to talk to. Call 636-3636; our volunteers are on call, waiting to help. The hours are Monday-Thursday from 3 p.m.-10 p.m. and all weekend, starting from Friday at 3 p.m.-Sunday at 10 p.m.
Do you feel you are being abused? Do you have problems that you feel you can't talk to anyone about? You may feel adults/people have let you down, and it can be hard finding someone to trust and talk to. But, you don't have to manange on your own.
