John Macker's

Kim McKee is an award winning songwriter and musician.
Using her love for the traditional poetry and songs of Ireland and Scotland, she works to see the current as ancient and re-create the ancient into the current. All of her work begins as poetry and then some find their voice through her music. She is a National Champion on her instruments as well as winning top honors in the U.S. and Ireland for her "New Irish Song" compositions. Bruce Noll
is a transplant to New Mexico from the northern plains. North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota were homes to him for a few decades.
"Nature has always been my solace and themes and images from earth and
its many life forms appear in my writing. I am an amateur entomologist,
an avid hiker, a university professor and a lover and interpreter of the
work of Walt Whitman. I've presented my program, PURE GRASS, a dramatic
interpretation of Leaves of Grass, in 23 states in the last several
years (and two performances in Iceland in July of 2001). I also am on the
NMEH Chautauqua Program and present "Walt Whitman's America" around the
state.
Noll's poems have appeared in an assortment of periodicals in recent
years such as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Christian
Century, HMS Beagle, The American Entomologist, South Dakota Magazine
and Nebraska Life.
Christopher Nye
holds a Ph. D. in American Studies from the University of New Mexico, studied playwriting on a Fulbright at University of Bristol in England, has taught freshman English, literature, creative writing, and other courses. Until recently he was head of the Sciences and Engineering Division at Berkshire Community
College, and now works as Director of Special Programs there. He has an interest in
nature writing and has also served as an editorial advisor for Orion Magazine.
Carolyn Ogborn
grew up making forts out of pine needles and sticks, out of piano music and back porches, out of whiskey and poetry. She lives with her girlfriend, dogs, cats and chickens in Wise Acres, deep in the mountains of Madison County, NC, where she finds jobs for other people and is writing a book about it called Hell and Scissors.
Margaret O'Neal

Sergio Ortiz
grew up in Chicago, studied English literature at Inter-American University in San German, Puerto Rico, philosophy at World University. He was an ESL teacher most of his life but also worked with the elderly blind population as a Daily Living Skills Instructor for the El Paso Lighthouse for the Blind, and the Texas Lions Camp. He studiedÊculinary art at The Restaurant School in Philadelphia and became a chef.

Udell Player Jr
smoked cigarettes and wrote poetry on the banks of the canal, near the Junior High School he should have been inside. He became the editor of the small school mag. He has written poetry ever since that. He has also gone through coming out in a Mormon town (SLC), HIV diagnoisis and the death of two partners. In college he was encouraged ( by Stephanie Pace; a professor in Gender Studies at the University of Utah) to put his words out to be read, and he was first published there. Since then he read his work in the James A Little theatre as part of a project putting AIDS and art together. He's also been published in "Shades Art and Literary Magazine." (October 08)
