        Perpetual Decline

        The young rise to fulfil their potential
        Busily chasing promises, no time for wisdom;
        Then the old begin to fail, wandering through ruins,
        Mysteries and mistakes, and moments of heartache,
        Perpetual decline providing perpetual learning.

        But they were never guided, always herded
        By the 'cheerful fearful' who were always certain
        That no-one needed to know anything about anything;
        Keep moving and everything will continue to change
        Until nothing's certain, creating a new blank page.
