          "The Head Tilted Back..."

          The head tilted back
          and liquor poured in
          past beard and lips
          and teeth and tongue
          with so much
          covering it
          the self must be
          very small
          and soft
          so as to not
          damage the flesh
          and hard
          so as to
          withstand the stomach
          and green
          so as not to
          burn up with fever

          "How often do we see..."

          How often do we see
          our love in a field
            of flowers?

          There's a
          white week long blossom
            of trees,
          that line the avenue.
          I don't know their name.
          Some gray fragments
            of petals
          (for it is a flowering)
          make it as far as
          the grocery store parking lot
          where shopping bags full
            of meat
          float over them.
