No one knows what prompts writing
For, if they say they do, they lie
Dump the theory, release the attachments, look inward
If you find a void, itŐs real and holds promise.
Let it flow and ebb, the waves are important.

Now you know why war is so attractive and combat so immediate
And why challenging death is a ritual and peace is empty
It all brings the past and future into the present,
        Stopping the speculation and fear
At least, for a while until intellect intrudes

Now you know why battle and competition hold such a magnet
It postpones the inevitable and energizes the body
But in the delay the chances are diminished
        the equation reduced
        Love suffers

The alternative is clear, the option evident
        Grab the moment, trust intuition
Go with the flow, follow the signals
No one knows more, the results not questioned
        Process lives and submission rules.

Gary Ferguson writes that "After more than 40 years of 'life in the left brain of engineering', I am 5 years into a relentless release of a creative, artistic and intuitive approach of giving life to some long suppressed images, poetry, creations and life changes. The journey involves learning the Ňropes of artÓ simultaneously with image and content development. This process is exciting, interesting and engaging." Ferguson earned his MS in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford Univ, 1970, and has been studying Art at UNM-Taos for the past 3 years.
