I See
President Bush says,
that despite the terrible
human rights abuses
of prisoners in Iraq,
he stands squarely behind
his Defence Secretary
Donald Rumsfeld-
well,
at least 'til he finds
a better place to hide......
Poem
I think it's
fucking shit,
real fucking shit,
how thousands starve
in this world
and....
how some find
bad language in
a poem that
expresses this fact,
more offensive.
HIM MORTAL
Every month or so,
his leathery face smiles
out from our local 'rag'.
A gush of praise squeezed
to a few column inches
reports latest achievements:
another marathon run
100 lengths swum
or sponsored cycle completed.
Then the obligatory bio-
how he came home pale
and sweating from the office,
to be found 12 hours later
by a distraught daughter.
"I turned my life around at 65...."
he proudly spouts,
"I really thought I was going to die!"
Exasperated, I light up
and take a slug from the bottle;
'You really are' I muse,
'you really are..........'
