- Membership in the League of Women Voters is open to all citizens of the United States, men and women, that are 18 years or older.

- The work of the League is supported by the dues and gifts of the members and by public-spirited men and women who consider contributions to the League an investment in their community.

- Control of the League is in the hands of the local members. They raise the money and decide how it shall be spent.

- League funds are spent only for League work. Work is done by volunteers. No salaries are paid to League officers -- national, state, or local.

- Publish a pamphlet listing local, state and national officials, Who's Who

- Register voters

- Conduct candidates' debates/forums

- Monitor election practices

- Adopt study items suggested by members

- Prepare balanced, well researched papers on topics of local concern

- Hold public meetings to share information

- Testify before public bodies on areas of League study and research

- Speak out on areas of League study and research with letters, press releases, conferences

- Inform public officials of League positions on areas that have been studied

- The League is non-partisan; it neither supports nor opposes political parties or candidates.

- The League of Women Voters functions at the local, state, and national level to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of all citizens in government and to act on governmental issues that are in the public interest.
