Space 1999
Festival of Independent, Community-Based
Space Exploration
London: June 18-27 1999
Space 1999 is a 10 day event
being organised by the Association of
Autonomous Astronauts (AAA)
as part of their 5 year plan to establish a worldwide network of groups
dedicated to building their own spaceships. The event builds on the success
of previous AAA Intergalactic Conferences in Vienna and Bologna. Space
1999 will take place in London from June 18-27.
Events planned so far include:
-
Games of 3-sided football
-
Tours of launch sites
-
Intergalactic Conference on
independent, community-based space exploration
-
All-night parties/training for
raves in space
-
Workshops on how to become an
autonomous astronaut, sex in space, etc...
-
Media invasions
-
Film and video events
-
An exhibition of AAA propaganda
Anyone can participate
in Space 1999 simply by organising an event that is related connected with
independent, community-based space exploration. If you have an idea for
something, please get in touch. We are particularly keen on hearing from
people with access to venues, satellites, soundsystems, rocket technology...
Space 1999 will be an opportunity
to explore the new possibilities that
open up when we form autonomous
communities in outer space, and to destroy the state, corporate and military
monopoly of space travel
ONLY THOSE WHO ATTEMPT
THE IMPOSSIBLE
WILL ACHIEVE THE ABSURD
