DEW Daybreak
Label: Lancing Music, New York, NY
Release Number: LM-225
Format: CD
Style: Country
Price: CD - $10.00

UNLIKELY COUNTRY! DEW (which is derived from the initials of the band members) is not your typical country band. In fact, none of its members are actually country musicians. DEW is a country band comprised of members of rock'n'roll bands who wanted to do something a little different.
If you suspect that the result of this formula might be a cross between rock and country, think again. The fruits of DEW's efforts are original grass roots, down-to-earth, nitty gritty country tunes performed flawlessly. When this band decided they were doing country music, they did PURE country, and the result is Daybreak. A "must have" for country purists!

GROWIN' WILD Livin' in Nature in a Natural Way
Label: Patch Productions, Omaha, NE
Release Number: PP025
Format: CD
Style: Country
Price: CD - $10.00
|
COWBOY SONGS! Growin' Wild's album Living in Nature in a Natural Way, is a collection of cowboy campfire songs that is immaculately produced. Complete with the continuous sounds of a crackling fire, coyotes, crickets, and horses in the background, one would be convinced that is was actually recorded by a group of traveling horsemen just before bedding down for the night.
All selections feature simple instrumentation which includes only vocals, acoustic guitars, harmonica, and an occasional hand clap. The songs themselves are a mixture of classic old-time cowboy songs with some of Growin' Wild's originals. This album is truly a great collection!

COUNTRY ROCK! America's finest country-rock is proudly on display in The Silence Says It All, a compilation of 10 toe-tapping contemporary country tracks by Kevin & the Kickers, a promising new country band which, under their previous name (Bill & Kev) held the #1 song in El Paso, TX in 1996 with their hit single Goldie Locks.
Led by country singer/songwriter Kevin Havron on lead vocals, the band has accumulated several prestigious industry credits, including 3 AIRA nominations and gigs opening for national acts such as Johnny Paycheck and Eddie Raven. Each cut is an embodiment of Havron's solid songwriting and Southwestern influences. Superb!

SIR EEL The Great Outdoors
Label: Delleca Bros. Records, Los Angeles, CA
Release Number: DB0067
Format: CD and Cassette
Style: Rock
Price: CD - $8.00 Cassette - $7.00
|
PSYCHEDELIC COUNTRY? Sir Eel has been polishing its act for three years, and judging from the quality of their first album, it was time well spent. Inspired by the work of the Eagles and Garth Brooks, Sir Eel has taken a country/rock approach to its music, with an emphasis on sentimental ballads. The music, although noticeably country, hints of the 1960's with faint digital effects that contribute to a slight surrealistic environment. (Perhaps that's the origin of the band's name).
As much of the country market is becoming more rock-based, The Great Outdoors fits right in. In fact, Sir Eel's music rivals any country music on the market today. It is well performed and meticulously engineered and produced. This album is truly great!
