CLOSED

Because the town of Dulce isn't close to anything  (you have to want to GO to Dulce to stop by Dulce), I can understand why the casino didn't survive, although there may have been other factors contributing to its demise.  The Jicarilla Apache finally opened their new casino (also called the Apache Nugget) on Hwy 550. Like the closed casino, the new one isn't close to anything, not even a town. But at least it is off a major road linking Albuquerque to Farmington.
From what I have read, there are no plans to try to re-open the closed casino. Although I have been told that there is a motel in Dulce that has some video gaming, and there may be expansion plans in the works.  Believe me,  I don't foresee any casino (or any tourist based venture for that matter) succeeding in Dulce.
