High up over Las Vegas!

We had lunch in the Stratosphere's Restaurant that is on the 108th floor. Notice the butter is molded to look like the Stratosphere.

What a view of this large sprawling city!

Las Vegas Blvd.
See the construction in the foreground? More huge resorts and condominiums are going in - starting at $300,00.00 and going to $2Mil.

The desert tray!

Fremont Street.

One of three thrilling rides on top of the Stratosphere!

Every way you look there is masive urban sprawl.

The city stretches out to the mountains on all sides.
The population of the metropolitan area is growing close to two million people.

Red Rock Canyon in the distance.
The population of Las Vegas:
164,674 in 1980
258,295 in 1990
478,434 in 2000
508,604 in 2002
The population of the region jumped from
528,000 in 1980
853,000 in 1990
1,563,000 in 2002

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Back on land, we drove over to the Rio, and checked out their pool area. Nice.

There were several cascading waterfalls.

Even a real sand beach at one of the outdoor pools!

Looking up at the festively designed hotel.
