The trip to Portland, TX is about 200 miles.
This was our view from our travel trailer's kitchen dining room window.

Nueces Bay is in the background,
beyond that lies Corpus Christi.

We had rain and a chilly wind for a day and a half.

Driving in the country we found a huge flock of snow geese.

The gray birds on the ground are sandhill cranes.

Sunset Dec. 30th.
Corpus Christi's skyline is visible on the horizon.

We were surprised at how clear the water in the bay was after the storm finally left the area.

Strolling the North Beach in Corpus Christi the water looks like diamonds.

Dec. 31st afternoon walk on the beach
looking out on beautiful Corpus Christi Bay.
The aircraft carrier, the Lexington is in the background.

Same view after dinner at Landry's Seafood House.

As the sun went down the water took on an erie pink glow.

Back at our trailer we had one final view of the sunset and the city lights as we said good bye to 2006.
Happy New Year!
