The new addition to the Henry B. Gonzales and the Tower of the Americas.

This tower was built in 1968 for the World's Fair. Nic. A. Salas, was the Project Architect for the Tower of the Americas.

Even though it is January - the hibiscus are still blooming and growing new buds at the base of the tower.

Interesting play of light and shadows on the east wall of the convention center.

On the top of the 700 foot single standing tower is a revolving restaurant. It takes about 45 minutes for one revolution.

View out the restaurant windows.

The blue stars on this sidewalk guided the Dallas Cowboys over to the Alamodome

where to Cowboys held their summer camp.

Looking south

St. Joseph's Church is surrounded by a shopping center. When Joske's wanted to build this store St. Joe's refused to sell its land.

Looking west

Just to the left of the Marriot you can see the San Antonio River.

The roof in the foreground is the new addition to the Henry B Gonzales Convention Center. Behind it (beige roof) is the original convention center.

Looking north

Looking east

The river extends into the convention center courtyard.

River barges filled with tourists turn around at the convention center.

Inside the convention center is an interesting hanging sculpture that ...

.... is made out of all different types of empty cans of soda!
