Louise P. Lockhart

My years following graduation from university presented very little opportunity for personal creativity or studio space. When we moved to Las Cruces a work area of my own was a priority. Watercolor classes were not available at the University of Arizona, so I was delighted to find Bert Gammill and I have studied with her for the last 10 years.

I have exhibited with the Las Cruces Arts and Crafts, the Tombaugh Gallery, and the Southern Chapter of the New Mexico Watercolor Society - winning two honorable mentions and a best in show. Three of my pieces will appear in the movie, "Burning Plains."

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Applied Art, an Associates Degree in Interior Design Technology and have worked as a commercial artist on and off over the years.
