Society (MVIS) usually holds its annual sale of Iris rhizomes the first
weekend after Labor Day. This =
year
the sale is 10-11 September 2011 at the Mesilla Valley Mall in Las Cruc=
es
(probably near the theater). T=
hese
rhizomes are excess rhizomes from our members’ gardens and are proven
growers in our climate. The rh=
izomes
have been donated by our members and freshly dug from their own
gardens. All rhizomes are clea=
ned,
labeled and dipped in a disinfectant solution. About 1/3 has been introduced in the=
past
10 years! Prices range from $2 to $7
depending upon the year the flower was introduced. These are great
prices. Compare with prices on=
the
web. Advice is always free! Below is a list of plants for
the 2011 sale. I tried to list=
the
rebloomers (RE), space agers (SA), Standard Dwarf Bearded (SDB), etc as I know them. However, I don’t know
everything! We usually give 3 =
SDBs
for the price shown or at least one with lots of increases. Note that t=
he
list changes yearly and will not be complete until the day before the s=
ale. Potted irises are $5 or more for 20=
05 and
older and $10 if 2006 and newer.
