New Mexico ASA: Youth Program
Tournaments and Classifications Changes
Due to the fact that the Rocky Mountain Region no longer has Regional Tournament, and teams will advance from the State Tournament direct to the National Event district tournament are being brought back.
DISTRICT TOURNAMENTS:
- Will all be held, in each district, on the same weekend.
- Based on the number of teams in each age group a % will advance to the State Tournament from each District.
- The 3 pick-up players can be picked up from District to go to State
- Any team that qualifies to advance and does not, those players CAN NOT BE PICK UP until AFTER STATE. Reason: They qualified to advance higher and to eliminate coaches decline to get three of their players on another team and leave the rest of the players behind.
- District Tournaments will be for Class B teams, UNLESS there is sufficient numbers of Class A to hold a district tournament. District Tournaments will include t-ball and machine or coach pitch as well as 10U -18U.
- T-ball and machine or coach pitch will not advance past District Tournament.
- Class A will advance direct to State, if no district tournament is held.
- If a district does not have enough teams, in each age group, to host a district tournament those teams MAY have to compete in another district tournament.
