As a league or team we do not register ASA until the deadline, Can we put an ‘ALL STAR” team together for Championship Play. THE ANSWER IS NO. The Official ASA rule books states: Regular season roster. That is the roster You play with in league, tournaments. Once a player has walked on the field With the team and PARTICIPATED IN A GAME that player is a legal member Of that team and ONLY that team for Qualifiers or State Tournaments. NM ASA DOES NOT RECOGINZE SPLIT SEASONS. NM ASA DOES NOT RECOGINZE WAIVERS RELEASES. In 2007 we added that a player has until March 30th to change teams. After that Date no player may be removed from your ASA roster nor can she participate In Championship play with another team. The exception to this rule is The 14U. Because many of them can not participate with their team because It is a HIGH SCHOOL TEAM this age group has until Monday following the “NMAA HIGH SCHOOL STATE TOURNAMENT. “ to sign with the regular season team. Don’t understand this then contact your JO Commissioner. NM ASA feels our program has been re-vamped to make it possible for All teams from New Mexico to be able to compete with teams through out The country. NM ASA BELIEVES a child that has been a part of a team ALL SEASON deserves The opportunity to participate with that team in Championship Play. REMEMBER WE ARE HERE FOR THE KIDS….WIN OR LOSE INSURANCE WAVIER FORMS FOR LEAGUE ROSTER NM ASA strongly recommends each league use the wavier form Roster provided by Bollinger’s Insurance.
