
NM Players
and Teams Classification 2007 List -

MANDATORY
CLASSIFICATION: ( Adult and Youth)
Any team that has five (5) or more players on their roster,
including Pick up players and finishes #1 in the State Championship two
years In a row will move to the next highest classification for the
following year. Adult Program ONLY. The team will stay at the higher
classification until they participate.
Junior Olympic Class A teams: Top 4 at ASA State will be restricted to
A classification, even if they are moving to a higher age group.
Junior Olympic Class B Teams: Top two teams MUST move to Class A
Even
if they are moving to a higher age group.
Junior Olympic and Adults: Changing team names DOES NOT change
Classification.
Any
team winning two or more games at the ASA National tournament, Not
counting forfeits, MUST move to the next higher classification as per
ASA code. (Exception is if you are already playing at the A
classification you are restricted to A but do not have to move higher)
Any
team winning Regional two years in a row MUST move to the next highest
classification.
EXCEPTIONS
BASED ON ASA NATIONAL PARTICIPATION:

Women A Fast Pitch and Slow Pitch:
Restricted no mandatory move up.

Men’s A Slow Pitch if one of the
top 4 two years in a row then mandatory moved to Major.

Men and Women’s Slow Pitch: Top
six at National must move up

Men’s B Fast Pitch: Top six teams
MUST move up UNLESS less than 48 teams participated in National
Tournament. At that point top 10% must move up.

Men C Fast Pitch: Top 12 Finishers
at Nationals MUST move up UNLESS less than 48 participating than 10%
of must move up.

Girls Fast Pitch: Top 2 teams at
the ASA Western will be awarded a berth the following year to the
USA/ASA National Tournament AS LONG as they meet the National
Requirements.

ONLY time a Girls Fast Pitch team
may move up to participate is in the Girls Fast Pitch National
Qualifier. If finish in the top 3 must stay up otherwise can move
back to the B Classification

Any Pitcher on a Men's Fast Pitch
Team that is mandatory move up by ASA Code must play at the higher
level EVEN IF IT IS WITH A DIFFERENT TEAM.

Nationals and is chosen as an ALL AMERICAN must participate at the

With All State
Tournament, per class, being held in the same location Once the
deadline comes for roster lock, teams will be notified if they must
move up to the next highest level of competition. This will be based
on tournament participation and win/loss records.
Understanding
the Difference Between Youth A and B
-
Class B is mainly for beginning and recreations
teams, however with a National tournament being offered
at the conclusion of the season it is difficult to use such a simple
definition.

In
Class B ALL PLAYERS MUST reside in the same district . Class B teams
can travel to tournaments in and outside NM. If the team appears to
becoming a travel team they may be requested to move to Class A.

If a Class B teams
wins out numbers their losses they may be requested to move to Class
A

Class B is really
not for EVERY WEEKEND travel teams throughout the region.

NO pick-up players
are allowed for the State Tournament, therefore
if an A or B Player is NOT on a registered team they are NOT
illegible to be used as a pick-up when the team advance to the next
level.

Class A teams may
be made up of players from throughout NM.

Class A teams may have players from other states, however the
largest number of players must
reside in New
Mexico.

must stay up for the entire championship season.

Rosters will be locked at ANY TIME a team starts
Championship Play. If it is prior to June 1 then players who have
not participated on team can still be added to the roster. NO ONE
can be removed this is Class A & Class B.

March 31st is the deadline for when a player can change
teams.After that date the player is locked to their team and the
coach can not removed said player.

Maximum number of players on a roster is 20.
