NMIRI Mission and Work

NMIRI’s mission is to provide NM and the U.S. with quality policy research which promotes personal responsibility, limited government, and free market economics. We are non-partisan and advance education for scientific purposes. The Institute publishes scholarly papers and books, conducts seminars and forums, and engages in research which promotes ideas and issues around public policy for NM and the United States. The Institute offers policy options for New Mexican citizens in the marketplace. We have a local board of directors which guides our activities and provides fiduciary responsibility. We are a 501(c) (3) organizations and are tax exempt. Our funds come from private sector funding only and we receive no funds from any government for our work.

Our work includes policy issues on taxation, state budgeting, education reform, health care reform, foreign policy, U.S. Mexico Border Issues, intercultural communication, higher education reform, and economics. Scientists from all disciplines are drawn from local, regional and national sources to assist in the various projects leading to effective policy for New Mexicans and our nation. Free market principles are fundamental to economic freedom for all New Mexican individuals, thus the Institute's core work is focused on this value set.

The work of the Institute is peer reviewed and managed by a senior editor. We encourage thoughtful papers by all citizens inside and outside of New Mexico about New Mexico.
