Francis Marion Williams, 78, died Monday, May 16. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at Shocco Chapel Baptist Church in Warrenton by the Rev. Lennis Thorpe, pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Williams, son of the late Nannie Sneed and Robert J. Williams, was born Feb. 6, 1927 in Warren County. He attended the Warren County Public Schools. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Army, and was active in World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Williams is survived by four daughters, Delores Williams of Rockford, Ill., Gloria Killingham of Boston, Mass., Argenia Battle and Alice Battle, both of New York; a son, Francis M. Williams, Jr. of Plaistow, N.H.; two sisters, Ruth Roberts of Falls Church, Va. and Julie Boone of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Alonzo Williams of Newport News, Va. and Samuel Williams of Tempie Hill, Md.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. Arrangements were by R.H. Greene Funeral Home.

FRANCIS MARION WILLIAMS was born February 6, 1927 in Warren County, North Carolina to the late Robert and Nannie (Sneed) Williams. He departed this life Monday, May 16, 2005 at his home in Warrenton.
At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined Shocco Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Francis grew up in Warrenton with his nine brothers and sisters in a closely knit family.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945 and served his country faithfully. He served first as a Private in the Infantry, then as a PFC-Cook in Japan with the 24th Infantry Regiment. He was honorable discharged at Ft.Lawton, Washington on April 30, 1947.
He was joined in holy matrimony on July 15, 1950 to Betty Mabel Davis daughter of Walter and Mary Ellen (Rodgers) Davis of Warren County. From this union three children were born. He remarried December 12, 1970 to Hazel Davis of Wayne County, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Davis, and his five brothers; Edgar Williams, Robert Leslie Williams, Willie Royster, John Thomas Williams, Nathaniel Cleotha Williams.
He is survived by his three children; N. Deloris Williams of Rockford, IL, Gloria J. Killingham of Boston, MA, Francis M. Williams, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Plaistow, NH, two step-daughters; Alice Strickland and Argena Battle of New York, two brothers; Alonzo Williams of Newport News, VA, Samuel Sneed Williams (Levonia), Temple Hills, MD, two sisters; Ruth Mae Roberts of Falls Church, VA, and Julia Boone of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces nephews and friends.

Hazel Davis Williams departed this earthly life in the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC on Sunday April 19, 1998 at 10:00 A.M. She was born May 20, 1922 in Wayne County to the late Ezekial and Mary Fleming Davis.

Mrs. Hazel Davis Williams migrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1953 where she made her residence. She was employed with the Rockerfellow Center where she retired after 25 years of service. Upon returning to Wilson in 1994, she was employed with Wilson Memorial Hospital for 2 - 1/2 years.
During her residency in Brooklyn, NY, she united with Cornerstone Baptist Church under the ministry of the late Dr. Sandy F. Ray and where the current pastor is Reverend harry S. Wright. During her tunure at Cornerston, she was an active member of the Usher Board and The Nag Club. In 1994, Mrs. Hazel Davis Williams united with Brown Chapel FWB Church and became an active member of the Usher Board.
Her hobbies included cooking coconut cakes and apple cobblers for ministers and friends. A loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she was loved by all she knew.
Cherishable memories are left to her husband Mr. Francis Marion Williams of the home, four daughters, Mrs. Alice Strickland (Jesse) of Queens,NY; Mrs. Argena Sheffield (William Eugene) of Brooklyn, NY; Ms. Deloris Williams of Boston, MA; and Ms. Gloria Williams of Oxon Hill, MD; one son, Mr. Francis Williams, Jr. of Boston,MA; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Davis and Mrs. Hattie Bridges of Wilson, NC; and Mrs. Pearl Lassiter of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Mr. Ezekial Davis, Jr., of Manhattan,NY; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Nathaniel "Buck" Williams, age 72 formerly of Warren County, died on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 12 noon at Shocco Chapel Baptist Church in the Parktown community in Warrenton with the Rev. Lennis Thorpe, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Natalie Bray of Mansfield, Texas, and NaJen Williams of Newark, N.J.; one step-son, George Robinson of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mae Roberts of Falls Church, Va. and Julia Boone of Newport News, Va.; three brothers, Alonzo Williams of Newport News, Va., Samuel Williams of Temple Hills, Md. and Frances Williams of Warrenton; and three grandchildren.
