FRANCIS MARION WILLIAMS

Francis Marion Williams, 78, died Monday, May 16. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at Shocco Chapel Baptist Church in Warrenton by the Rev. Lennis Thorpe, pastor. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Williams, son of the late Nannie Sneed and Robert J. Williams, was born Feb. 6, 1927 in Warren County. He attended the Warren County Public Schools. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Army, and was active in World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Williams is survived by four daughters, Delores Williams of Rockford, Ill., Gloria Killingham of Boston, Mass., Argenia Battle and Alice Battle, both of New York; a son, Francis M. Williams, Jr. of Plaistow, N.H.; two sisters, Ruth Roberts of Falls Church, Va. and Julie Boone of Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Alonzo Williams of Newport News, Va. and Samuel Williams of Tempie Hill, Md.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. Arrangements were by R.H. Greene Funeral Home.

FRANCIS MARION WILLIAMS was born February 6, 1927 in Warren County, North Carolina to the late Robert and Nannie (Sneed) Williams. He departed this life Monday, May 16, 2005 at his home in Warrenton.
At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined Shocco Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Francis grew up in Warrenton with his nine brothers and sisters in a closely knit family.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1945 and served his country faithfully. He served first as a Private in the Infantry, then as a PFC-Cook in Japan with the 24th Infantry Regiment. He was honorable discharged at Ft.Lawton, Washington on April 30, 1947.
He was joined in holy matrimony on July 15, 1950 to Betty Mabel Davis daughter of Walter and Mary Ellen (Rodgers) Davis of Warren County. From this union three children were born. He remarried December 12, 1970 to Hazel Davis of Wayne County, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Davis, and his five brothers; Edgar Williams, Robert Leslie Williams, Willie Royster, John Thomas Williams, Nathaniel Cleotha Williams.
He is survived by his three children; N. Deloris Williams of Rockford, IL, Gloria J. Killingham of Boston, MA, Francis M. Williams, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Plaistow, NH, two step-daughters; Alice Strickland and Argena Battle of New York, two brothers; Alonzo Williams of Newport News, VA, Samuel Sneed Williams (Levonia), Temple Hills, MD, two sisters; Ruth Mae Roberts of Falls Church, VA, and Julia Boone of Newport News, VA; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces nephews and friends.

Roger Evans Davis silently passed on to be with the
Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2001 at Carney Hospital
after a brief illness. He was born to the late Walter
and Mary Davis on October 18, 1936.
Roger was born and raised in Warrenton,NC. He was
baptized at a very early age at Little Zion Baptist
Church. He attended John Hawkins High School. After
high school, Roger moved to New Jersey where he met
his former wife, Lillie Brown. They resided in
Hampton, VA. Roger found employment at Basic
Construction Company and Newport News Shipyard. He
later moved to Boston and found permanent residency in
Dorchester, MA. He last worked for New England
Wholesale Drug Company until he became disabled. He
was a loving father, brother, husband, uncle and
nephew.
Roger leaves to mourn one daugher Janella I. Davis-
Williams and her husband Kevin L. Williams of Newport
News, VA; one stepson Paul Carter of Washington D.C.,
a loving brother Robert Davis and his wife Maxine
Davis of Greensboro, NC; six sisters Betty Cooper and
her husband James D. Cooper, Doris Fields and her
husband John L.Fields, Panthea Robinson, Matilda
Livingston and her husband Dereck Livingston,
Celestine Debnam all of Boston,MA., and Brenda Brown
and her husband Jerome Brown of Warrenton, NC; three
aunts Connie Davis, Cleo Reese, and Naomi Blue along
with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends,
and one special friend, Reanita Poe. He will be
greatly missed by all.

2Original Funeral Obituary, CHESTER ROBINSON.
Chester Robinson was born in Coffeeville, Mississippi
to the union of the late Walter Robinson and Lovie
(Lewis) Robinson. He weas one of fourteen brothers
and sisters. He accepted Christ at an early age and
joined and was baptized at the Elm Grove Baptist
Church. At the age of fifteen he came to reside with
his oldest sister Dovie in Cambridge, MA. In later
years they moved to Boston. Soon after, he joined the
armed forces. He served the military for many years
and was then employed by the railroad as both a
Pullman porter and a chef. It was then he met and
married his beloved wife, Panthea Davis, on September
19, 1959. This union resulted in four sons:
Chester,Jr.,Anthony, and the late Walter and
Christopher Robinson.
Chester was a hard and diligent worker. Besides
having been employed by the railroad, he also worked
for Drakes Baker and Parker Street Lounge as a chef.
He then pursued the operation of may "mom & pop"
stores. Chester was a man of love, care and concern.
He was also known as the Godfather to his many family
members, especially his many nieces and nephews as
well as those special people close to his heart.
He leaves to morn his passing, hiw wife of forty-one
years, Panthea, his sons Chester, Jr. and Anthony and
daughters-in-law, Bertha, Corona and Sherice. His
five sisters and their husbands, Dovie and Bishop
Burke of Boston, Lorenzie and Chester Criss of
Grenada, MS, Elma Jean and James O'Bannon of Memphis,
TN, Christine Bailey of Memphis, TN, Katherine Pass of
Boston; one brother, Elbert Robinson and wife Lula of
Boston; and one aunt, Connie Davis of Boston. His
grandchildren, Walter, Janai, Christopher, Kayla,
Jammal, Ivyanna, and step-grand-daughter Dara.
He also leaves sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy
Robinson, Lena Mae Bailey, Betty Cooper, Doris Fields,
Matilda Livingstone, Celestine Debnam, Robert Davis,
Brenda Brown, and Roger Davis.
Brothers and sisters proceeding him in death are
Finley, Daley, Dottie, Walter,Jr., Lottie Mae
Williamson, Earline Tillman and Bobby Robinson.
