280. Francis Marion WILLIAMS

FRANCIS MARION WILLIAMS grew up in Warrenton working mostly as farmer. He completed the 5th grade in 1941 and joined the army in 1945. He worked for farmer C.G. Coleman prior to his Army enlistment. Francis served in the US Army from 12/18/1945 to 4/30/1947 as a Private for 6 months in the infantry, and as a PFC Cook in Japan with the 24th infantry regiment. He separated from the Army at Ft.Lawton, Washington. Prior to joining the Army his address was Star Rt. Box35, Warrenton, NC. He and Betty Davis got married 7/15/1950 in Warren County.


Betty Mabel DAVIS

BETTY MABEL DAVIS - Grew up in NC until married in 1950. Resided in Warren County with husband Francis Williams and 3 children first few years of their young marriage, with his parents. Each child was born at their paternal grandparents home where they resided until about 1955. They had the following children: Nannie Deloris born 7/18/1951, Gloria Jean, born 11/19/1952, and Francis Marion, Jr. born 3/24/1954. The family moved to New York and later to Boston for several more years. Betty & Francis were divorced in the 1960's. Betty met and re-married again to James Cooper, and they had 1 child together, Johnny James Cooper, born 5/3/1966. They have lived in Boston together since their marriage.

Anna DIGGS

ANNA was apparently first married to CHARLES DIGGS of Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and her maiden name has yet to be determined.

SALLIE HARDY was the daughter of ALLEN & SALLIE HARDY of Halifax County,North Carolina.
