Dear
Ms. Ustick:
The
steering committee of the Citizens’ Task Force for Open Space Preservation
(CTF) is pleased to offer its support for the City of Las Cruces proposal for
the Water 2025 Challenge Grant Program 2005 to the US Bureau of Reclamation. We support your efforts to improve water
efficiency and to conserve water in our region, in particular, efforts which
will improve water quality and quantity in Burn Lake. We also strongly support your efforts to improve bank stability
and the habitat value of the shoreline at Burn Lake. The project, in conjunction with the proposals of the Elephant
Butte Irrigation District and the El Paso Water Services Utilities Board,
should provide a strong example of regional planning and agency cooperation,
which are critical to the management of all the natural resources in our
region.
I
hope that CTF’s support of your proposal will be of benefit in insuring its
nomination. Please let me know if I can
offer any further assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
Nancy Stotz
