Alamogordo has many trails where you can mountain bike or hike.  We have provided a map created by "Rails To Trails" here for you.  It is broken up into two sections to reduce load time. The image on the left is the western part of the map, the image below is the eastern part of the map. To view a larger version that is easier to read and sized for optimal printing click on the maps themselves.

 

The New Mexico Rails To Trails Association supports the International Mountain Bicycle Association Rules of the Trail.
  • Ride on open trails only.
  • Leave no trace.
  • Control  your bicycle
  • Always yield the trail
  • Never spook animals.
  • Plan ahead.

  • Be alert and courteous.  Anticipate other trail users.
  • Always carry water.
  • Be prepared for sudden mountain weather changes.
Leave no trace.
  • Stay on designated trails.  Walking off trail may damage surrounding plants and wildlife habitat.  Cutting switchbacks causes soil erosion.
  • Please take all your trash with you. Pack it in. Pack it out.
  • Respect our natural heritage.  Leave plants, rocks and historical artifacts as you find them.
