Stephen Helmreich has been the organist at Peace since 1990. A native of
the midwest and raised in the Missouri Synod (parochial school,
Valparaiso University, and finally Concordia Seminary St. Louis /
Seminex), he moved to New Mexico in 1988 to work at the Computing
Research Laboratory of  New Mexico State University, where he is
currently the deputy director. His academic background is in linguistics
and theology and he studied organ with Philip Gehring. He is a member
and past dean of the Las Cruces chapter of the AGO.  He and Guy, his
partner of 13 years, currently have two horses, two dogs, two lovebirds,
and a cat.
