"We're not spring chickens any more."SUMMER CHICKENS andBUTTERCUP'S RUNby James Nathan Post
Suffering "middle-age angst," summer chickens Bud and Vera each make a date to cheat on the other -- unknowingly in the same place at the same time, with the spouses of their respective younger dates, Phillip and Julie, who are aware of the deception and keeping both secrets. On the road, they pick up a phony preacher with a deadly secret package in his Bible, and a host-mother fleeing the hospital hours before delivery, pursued by homicidal agents of the baby's client-mother... who seeks a fortune willed to the child.
