They were once military assassins, and they are now working covertly for the Feds in Chicago to defeat anti-war protesters, and do the Plumbers' dirty tricks. Should maverick lawyer Sam Cohen defend them, or destroy them? Sexy pulp fiction based on astonishing true expose.

Setting:

Mid-1970's, in the rough streets of Chicago. Other locations include a Vietnam war village, and a remote small mountain town in New Mexico.

Synopsis:

Ryan Sedlack was a military assassin, a sadistic psychopath exploited by the CIA to do the covert dirty work, the atrocities. On a flashback mission in Vietnam, he commits murder, rape, and destroys a village, in exciting combat action. Discharged in 1970, he becomes part of the Chicago Legion Of Justice, a civic group taking "all legal steps" to oppose the efforts of anti-war protesters.

He meets mysterious and sexy Mata Diaz and pious and patriotic Tim Kallman, like himself dirty tricks operatives, and he starts working for LOJ commander Simon Reinhardt, retired Colonel and CIA officer. He begins a passionate relationship with Mata, and takes part in an operation involving the robbery of a major Catholic church in Chigago. When the op goes wrong, he and Tim are accused of the robbery.

Ryan is told by Simon to go into hiding while he gets the situation straightened out, and so Ryan and Mata go into hiding in an old hotel in New Mexico, where they become involved in the local marijuana trade. Betrayed by an unknown informant, Ryan finds himself back in Chicago facing drug charges, and told he will be protected if he agrees to tell the State's Attorney all about the covert activities of the LOJ. He at once becomes a target of the same assassins with whom he worked. It is up to Sam Cohen, an independent maverick lawyer, to find a way to defend him.

Though Tim Kallman was not on the church robbery mission, it is he who is charged with the crime. Through his association with Ryan's case, Tim meets Cohen's secretary Sheila Starr and they fall in love. As Cohen comes to know the truth about his villainous client Ryan, he finds it harder to continue to defend him, and when Ryan fails to pay for one case, then gets himself into another, Cohen refuses to work for him any longer.

Ryan hides in Sam's office to kill him, and ends up raping Sheila instead, then going once again into hiding. Sheila tries to get Sam to use whatever influence he has to get Tim thrown into jail so he will not go hunting for Ryan, as she knows Ryan is most likely to kill him. In the climactic action, Tim is thwarted in his attempt to confront Ryan by Mata, who is herself an active sniper and assassin, and who succeeds in killing Ryan and getting away.

Sam gets Tim's case handled and his freedom secured, and they go with Sheila and Sam's girlfriend Betty to their favorite bar to celebrate.
