African Closeup

Born and raised in the mountains of western Montana, my love of animals has been with me for as long as I can remember. My concern for our endangered environment and its wildlife has led me to specialize in Animals – Wild & Domestic. A percentage of all my sales are donated to a number of domestic, wildlife and habitat conservation organizations. I spend as much or more time in the research as I do on each picture than the actual work process takes. I enjoy trying to capture the personalities of the animals and their expressions in the works that I do and I hope people are able to see what I think I see. I have a BA in Fine Art and Education from the University of Montana Western. The medias I do my work in are Wolff’s Carbon Pencil, Pen and Ink and Pastel Pencils but most often for me I do Mixed Media where a combination of the preceding medias are combined with transparent acrylic glazes as shown in the picture above. I also do Acrylic paintings on canvas. Besides originals, I have off-set signed and numbered lithographic and giclée low number limited edition reproductions. Some lithographic reproductions are also black & white and hand colored by me. All reproductions are on 100% acid free rag paper and high quality. I also have sets of note cards drawn and printed by me which includes over 160 breeds of dogs, plus cats, horses, llamas as well as a number of endangered species of animals. Open edition giclée reproductions are available from this card line matted frame ready in sizes of 8x10 and 9x12.
