The Miami Rainbow was created on South Beach on June 10, 1993 as part of a fund raiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. The Foundation works with terminally ill children to make their dreams come true.
Tug boats were provided by Belcher Towing. This rainbow was very difficult to realize since the orientation at South Point is toward the south. This orientation enabled only the left half of the rainbow to be viewed.
