A natural rainbow was created as part of the Peace Arch Park Festival in Blaine, Washington on July 20, 2001. The weather was very cloudy for day s before the event. I met with the fire department on the day before the event. We decided to check out their equipment by pumping water even though there was no sunshine. I spoke with two kids who were playing in the field near the truck. I told them we were going to pump water and if they did not move away they would get really wet. They both immediately said, "Great, we want to get wet." When I found out they lived across the street from the park, I told them if they went home and asked their mom if it was ok, it would be fine with me. Two minutes later they came running back shouting, "She said it is ok."

We squirted some water and the kids just ran through it. After we stopped I went over to talk to the kids. I asked them if they knew how to make the sun come out. The older girl, Mandy said she could do it. Mandy sat down closed her eyes tight facing the sun. About two minutes later the sun came out. We shot some more water and watched Mandy and her brother run through the rainbow.

I asked Mandy if she could bring the sun for the event on the next day. She said she would. And she did. I gave Mandy the photo below of her and her brother running through the rainbow. I signed it thanking her for making the rainbow possible. Children are very magical and now Mandy is one that has touched her power. My dear friend Evelyn Roth came to the rainbow with flowing rainbow costumes for the kids. They danced through the rainbow.

I am very indebted to Christina Alexander for mounting a show of my photos entitled, "Rainbows Around The World."
