This 30ft Airstream Argosy was dubbed "The Onion" after attendance at a Region Rally shortly after the Argosy label was "permitted" membership in the WBCCI. With nearly 400 regular silver bullets, a few motor homes and one lone Argosy, ours, we felt like an onion in a petunia patch, and so it follows. The unit has a center bath with rear twin beds. The original Argosy style low back couch was replaced with a high back Airstream model for greater comfort. Exterior brown/bronze trim paint on frame and banana skin were painted black and orange vinyl rub rail inserts replaced with black vinyl. The center blue strip was a paint over of a dirty bronze color to match our tow vehicle. As a result the body color went from a beige/tan color to appearing off white. Unit is equipped with four solar panels, four batteries and a 1200 watt inverter. Interior floor in living/galley area is oak, parquet wood flooring with carpet tile in rear portion of unit. The front wrap around glass windows are protected by a stone guard. Side windows have 3M sunscreen film applied on the inside. It reduced sun's heat considerably and give day time visual privacy but you do loose some light inside. White wall tires and Airstream wheel covers were added. Unit has original air conditioner but refrigerator was replaced in '97. Trailer is washed regularly and polished once a year with soft paste wax and buffer.
