The Monster--
This one began rather innocently, with a drop-dead-gorgeous blues/tans/silver paisley. I made "variable star" blocks and alternated them with "puss in a corner" blocks (with a nice little ecru and a nice dark blue/ecru plaid). The "flying geese" border is, of course, one of those "never again" things -- I can say I did it -- once. This quilt is a queen-sized quilt, and hence, its name. It was like wrestling a monster to get it quilted! It went to Doug and Mary Bess Holloway's son (see "I ... Promised You a Rose Garden", above), Jason. Jason is two weeks older than my kids.
