Twice Chained--
[Perdido (twice chained)]Another of the six Double Irish Chain quilts before I actually graduated to making something other than square corners. I bought the fabric for the centers of the blocks in the "home decorating" section (still can't imagine why I liked those pale flowers), and made a funquilt, which called out the name of a two-year-old as I made it. I brought it down to Las Cruces with me (quilted, even) when I moved here from Albuquerque in 1991. I had it in my car to show the baby's grandparents before I mailed it, when I spotted this house for sale. I stood my car on its nose, walked through the empty house, and glory, but the spare bedroom (also my sewing room) had that WALLPAPER -- which cried OUT for that very quilt! So, the baby didn't get that quilt --but I found more fabric and made her one just like it. Thus, "TwiceChained."
