FFG--
CAVEAT: This blurb contains a politically incorrect word!
My young webmaster has parents, who are also a couple of my favorite people. And yeah, they too, are both drop-dead gorgeous. I found the wild floral fabric, raced home, and started building "scrappy" variable stars. I have no idea why I put them together with green sashing. Got tired of making stars, and the quilt needed borders. OF COURSE, the quilt shop had long since sold out of the fabulous floral fabrique. So, I went back and rootled through the considerable stash, and pieced a green border. Meanwhile, Roi (she's the mom) and Carter (he's the dad) had painted a green wainscoating in their bedroom. This quilt had to go there. Of course, the Campbells have a king-sized bed. More pieced green borders.
They came over one night when I had the quilt top spread out on my bed. Roi looked at it, and said (knowing it was theirs) "Sarah, this is flat fuckin' gorgeous!" Thus, the acronym "FFG". I chuckled. When it came time to leave, Carter was missing. I found him running his hands over the quilt top. He says he likes it. Also bigger-than-king-size, and also free-motion quilted.
