In A Brown Funk--

I'm known for several things on the internet newsgroup which bears the initials "R.C.T.Q," including my "YEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAH!", my incessant raving about my beloved New Mexico, the atlas upon which I "pin" the newbies, my penchant for anything purple (or glittery), and how much I really LOATHE brown (I live on the DESERT! I see a LOT of brown!). I'll never know what set the RCTQ bunch into gear, but they snickered and giggled and snortled as they sent me BROWN fabric.

Well, I had to do SOMETHING with it (if for no reason other than to get it out of my sight), so I made those browns into a quilt for my son Mark for christmas (and then, well, for his birthday in February, and St. Pat's Day, and May Day, and Memorial Day, and MY birthday, in June). The pattern is one I learned as "Sloping Star" (although there are other names for it). I added the greeny-marbly border because I really was sick of BROWN. The more I worked on it, the closer I got to the name it gave itself: "In a Brown Funk" :-)
