Dr. Stephen Lowell Swisher is a senior executive at Kenneth Copeland Ministries, Ft. Worth, Texas. He is integrally involved with many areas of the national and international outreach of KCM. He works closely with Kenneth and Gloria Copeland to plan and carry out their vision for Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Eagle Mountain International Church. His roles include overseeing the Pastoral relations department, Associate Ministers as well as Licensing and Ordination programs. He further directs the Disaster Relief departments, Ministry to Ministers and Special Partner relations as well. Dr. Swisher also oversees the public relations and media functions of KCM.
Dr. Swisher holds degrees from New Mexico State University (AA, BA), United Theological Seminary (M.Div., D.Min.) and he was honored in 2004 with an honorary doctorate degree (D.Sac. Lit.) from Dorchester University in England.
In 2004 Dr. Swisher was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans by the U.S. Jaycees and awarded the prestigious TOYA statue at the 66th Annual Awards Ceremony. With this premiere award Dr. Swisher is added to the list of American leaders under 40 embodying the Jaycee creed, “Service is the Best work of life.” Others who have been honored include: Elvis Presley, Pat Boone, Wayne Newton, U.S. Sen. John D. Rockefeller, IV, President John F. Kennedy, President William Jefferson Clinton, David Copperfield, Vice-President Joseph Biden, and Gen. Chuck E. Yeager.
Dr. Swisher has preached and led seminars at some of America’s largest Churches to include the Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove, CA.; Riverbend Church, Austin, TX; Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, TX; Ginghamsburg UMC, Tipp City, OH; Victory Church, Tulsa, OK; and hundreds of United Methodist Churches across America and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Swisher is the author of “God’s Way To Good Health,” published by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Press, NY, a helpful manual used by medical school and churches as a tool for discussing the topic of faith and health.
He is a frequent Chaplain of the Texas State Senate and has opened the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives in prayer as well. His many awards include the Distinguished Service Award from Texas Special Olympics, the Paul Harris Fellow Award from Rotary International, the Gabriel Award from the Religious Broadcasters of America, and the Monahans, Texas Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award.
Dr. Swisher also serves with Dr. John Hagee in the leadership of Christians United For Israel (CUFI).
Dr. Swisher is married to Kellie Copeland Swisher. Kellie is known worldwide as “Commander Kellie.” Through her Superkids movies and children and family ministry materials, she has reached millions with her Word based approach to teaching children the Bible and raising families God’s way. Kellie is also a recording artist, whose latest release, “Strand of Pearls,” interprets some favorite Christian songs with a Bluegrass flavor. Kellie is the daughter of Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and may be seen often on the Believer’s Voice of Victory telecast. Dr. and Mrs. Swisher reside with their family in Ft. Worth, Texas. Dr. Swisher is the son of Dr. Lowell and Barbara Swisher. |
