Dr. Swisher to Open the U.S. House of Representatives in Prayer

Dr. Stephen Lowell Swisher opened the U.S. House of Representatives in prayer on Feb. 6, 2008.   Dr. Swisher was in Washington, D.C. to attend the President’s Prayer Breakfast.  In 2005 Dr. Swisher opened the U.S. Senate in prayer and he currently serves as a frequent Chaplain of the Texas State Senate.

Dr. Swisher to be Counselor for Boy Scouts God and Country Award
Dr. Swisher has agreed to be a counselor for Circle 10 of the Boy Scouts of America. He will work with young leaders working on their God and Country badge. Dr. Swisher states, “These are young people who are serious about their faith and commitment to service. I am proud to support their effort and to help in any way possible.”

Dr. Swisher interviewed Mr. James Hampton.  Mr. Hampton was a regular on the F-Troop TV series and has starred in many major Disney motion pictures including "Hawmps" and "The Cat from Outer Space."  Other major motion pictures include: "The Longest Yard," "Stand By Your Man" and "The China Syndrome." Mr. Hampton has also co-starred in such hit TV shows as Melrose Place, Matt Houston, Simon and Simon, Murder She Wrote, Mannix, The Rockford Files and Gomer Pyle, USMC.

Dr. Swisher Opened the U.S. Senate in Prayer
Upon the recommendation of U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), the Rev. Dr. Stephen Lowell Swisher was invited to open the United States Senate in prayer on March 2, 2006. Dr. Swisher was introduced on the floor of the U.S. Senate by Sen. Hutchison and served as Chaplain of the day for this distinguished and historic body. Dr. Swisher has opened the Texas State Senate and other legislative institutions in prayer on numerous occasions.
