Artcraft First Day Covers

Background

Artcraft cacheted first day covers have been prepared continuously since the April 30, 1939 Washington Inaugural issue. First day covers have since become one of the hottest collectables in the philatelic world!

Artcraft First Day Covers represent first class classical covers postmarked with the first day of issue cancellation for the stamp or item of postal stationery.

The cachets on the left hand side of the envelopes are designed, engraved, and reproduced to complement the design of the stamp. The cachet is normally printed in black or complementary monochromatic colors, but full color cachets are sometimes produced for special issues or occasions.
