Owners Louie Spetrini and Brad Williams of the Big Red Tomato, located on Piedmont Rd, in the heart of the ever popular midtown district are known to be lovers and supporters of the arts. Their restaurant hangs various new artist exhibitions throughout the year that lend to the friendly and relaxed environment of this popular location.
For this season Louie and Brad have reached out beyond to bring to Atlanta the culture of the southwest and Mexico. NYC born artist Sunny Normand who was a resident of Atlanta back in the late 70's will be returning to the city to share her works of the southwest and Mexico culture with Atlanta residents. Sunny shares her time between her New Mexico based home and her artist studio in San Miguel de Allende, Mx. Primarily a self taught artist, Sunny however has studied art in her formative years in NYC and continued on to San Francisco, Atlanta, Alaska, New Mexico and Mexico.
Her displayed works will be a collaborative of oil on masonite, recycled sculpture and an introduction of the "Hooker" created from recycled woman's stiletto high heels. Sunny is a unique and specialized artist with a visual for life that is depicted in her work. Each piece carries its own identity with a zest and roar of freedom. Surely anyone with an open and creative mind with the call for the alternative should not miss this artist. Sunny's works will be displayed at the BIG RED TOMATO 980 Piedmont Rd., Atlanta, Ga. through the summer months for viewing, where all are openly invited.
