Sweetwater Retreat Center is connected to 18 acres of red rock high mountain desert with arroyos, canyons & carved red sand stone everywhere. Our main buildings are centrally located at the top of our center. On entering you will see parking and our Herb Shop where we handmake our products, check in with us here. After welcoming you we will take you down a curved path to the dininghall & bunkhouse. Our dininghall 800 sq ft serves as a classroom & gathering space for Sweetwater. This is the community kitchen where you can prepare your own food, or gather as a family or group. Two showers, a compost toliet & propane burn toilet are available in our bath area at the east end of this building. Small strip herbal gardens skirt the buildings, a pond & fountain highlight the courtyard area between the buildings. The veranda in front of the dininghall is great for seeing the sun set or gazing at the stars. Bunkhouse beds are tucked quietly away in our bunkhouse sleeping 13 as singles and up to 18 with 3 double beds & 2 queen being shared by couples. Our main buildings are straw bale construction and run by solar power, with clay floors and adobe walls. Beyond the bunkhouse is our camping & ceremonial area, a flat mesa that holds up to 10 tents with an outstanding view. Sweetwater is a good place to let your heart return to the earth, sleep deep with just the coyotes & wind to lull you to sleep. Simple life but a beautiful place to let your spirit refresh. We invite you to come share Sweetwater. |
