We know they're a delicacy in China, where they eat things even the French won't touch.  But who would have guessed Sea Cukes (Cucumbers) were also big in Sri Lanka?  Well, they are, and Sri Lankan poachers roam the Chagos like locusts, scooping them up and taking them off to Colombo.  Apparently the BIOT's Fisheries Patrol Vessel PACIFIC MARLIN only catches a few of these pillagers.  Time for the BIOT to get serious about protecting these beautiful and intelligent creatures!  Well, o.k., so they aren't that smart.  It's not like they have to be Shamu or Flipper to deserve protection...  Anyway, Here's a fact sheet about this problem:
